If you’ve made either pulled pork or pulled beef recipes you’ve probably got an abundance of delicious barbecue sauce left over and no idea what to do with it, here are my top tips.
Home Made Barbecue Sauce
The sauce is delicious refrigerated and used as nothing more than normal BBQ sauce, it’s easier to do, just follow these two steps
1) Put the sauce into the fridge overnight. The fat content from the pork or beef will rise to the top and set in a layer. Once set remove the layer of fat with a spoon and discard.
2) Store the sauce in an airtight container in the fridge, I use jam jars bought from the local $2 store, serve any time you’d normally eat BBQ sauce and enjoy!
BBQ RIBS
Who doesn’t love BBQ ribs, just add the sauce, chuck them in the oven and voila, gorgeous BBQ ribs!
BANGERS & MASH
My two year old is a genius, he demanded I serve pulled pork on mashed potato one night so we all thought we’d try it and it was delicious! The next night we had planned bangers and mash for dinner and when I asked hubby which of our go to sauces he was in the mood for red wine reduction, mushroom gravy or beef gravy he replied quick as a flash USE THE LEFTOVER BBQ SAUCE!!!! I simply popped it in the microwave and poured it over the boiled sausages and Thermomix mash and it was awesome!
DIPPING SAUCE
Having a platter with assorted meats and cheeses, add a small dish of cold BBQ sauce from the fridge to spread on delicious fresh home made Focaccia bread with a slice of gorgeous gourmet cheese and your guests will soon be asking where they can buy it!
ROAST CHICKEN GRAVY
